Rest & Realign: Mindfulness Insights & Practices with Carmina Sahota, M.Ed, RP (She/Her) & Alysha Saks, R.Ac (She/Her)

In a world that rarely pauses, rest becomes a radical act of self-awareness. This mindfulness workshop, co-led by Registered Psychotherapist, Carmina, and Acupuncturist, Alysha, invites participants to explore the many forms of rest - physical, mental, emotional, social and sensory - and their essential role in restoring balance and resilience.

Grounded in both modern mindfulness practices and the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine, we will approach rest not just as a break, but as a vital form of nourishment for the body and spirit. Through guided mediations, gentle movement, and Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques including acupressure and meridian activation, participants will learn to attune to their inner landscape with curiosity and compassion, and develop practical tools to respond with intention rather than reactivity.

Whether you’re feeling burnt out or simply seeking deeper alignment, this space offers a restorative pause and a pathway back to yourself.

A foundation of mindfulness practice is not required. Mats provided.

About ALYSHA SAKS, R.AC

Alysha Saks is a Registered Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist (R.Ac) who graduated from The Academy of Integrative Medicine. Alysha has a Bachelor’s degree in East Asian religion, and her passion lies within the realm of East Asian philosophy, which is what attracted her to Chinese medicine. She believes that Taoist and Buddhist concepts, such as mind-body connection and conscious awareness, in conjunction with acupuncture and bodywork are what the western world needs more of.

Alysha takes a holistic approach, assessing the body as a whole, looking into the cause of symptoms, rather than solely treating the visible symptoms. Pain management and injuries (both acute and chronic), hormonal imbalance and women’s health,  immunity, digestive complaints, emotional and mental imbalance, and nervous system regulation are a few of her focuses.
