Birth Basics 101: Everything You Need to Know for Labour, Birth, and Postpartum Experience
Join us at Bright Health Co. for a three-hour hands-on workshop that will teach you the essentials needed in preparation for your labour, birth, and postpartum experience, led by Bright’s pelvic floor physiotherapist, Grecia Alaniz, and Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Domenique Barbaro.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn what to expect during labour and childbirth, supportive options for pain management and induction, and advice on how to prepare for the postpartum period including lactation. With your birthing partner, you will have the opportunity to practice hands-on pain management strategies, optimal labouring positions, and pushing techniques.
*This workshop is ideal for those that will be between 30-36 weeks pregnant at the time of the workshop*
During the workshop, participants will:
Learn what to expect during labour and childbirth
Understand the conventional and alternative options for pain relief and induction
Practice hands-on techniques such as acupressure points for pain relief and several different labour and pushing positions
Obtain guidance on nutrition and supplementation for postpartum and breast/chest feeding
Learn optimal bowel, bladder, and movement strategies for postpartum recovery
